Privacy notice for this website

Short and plain: we keep this website as private as we can.

This notice sits alongside our full Data Protection (GDPR) Policy, which covers everything else we do.

What this website does

  • It does not use cookies, tracking or advertising.
  • It does not load fonts, scripts or images from other companies, so your visit is not shared with them.
  • Our website is hosted by Netlify, who keep standard server logs, including visitors' IP addresses, to run and protect the service.

If you use our contact form

The form asks for your name, email address, an optional phone number, the subject of your message and the message itself. We use this only to reply to you and to run our work. The form is handled by Netlify, our website host, who store the message and send it to us by email. We will not sell your details or share them for marketing.

Please do not use the form to send detailed personal information about a child. If you are joining a session, we will explain what information we need and why, in line with our Data Protection Policy.

If you email us

We will use your email address and anything you tell us only to reply to you and to run Kinect & Belong.

Our legal basis for using your information

We rely on one or more of the following, depending on why we hold the information: your consent, a contract with you, a legal obligation, protecting someone's vital interests, or our legitimate interests in running Kinect safely and well. Where we hold safeguarding information, we may also rely on additional lawful conditions under Article 9 of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

How long we keep it

We only keep personal information for as long as we need it for running Kinect, safeguarding, insurance or funding purposes. After that, it is securely deleted or destroyed.

Photographs and videos

We only publish photographs or videos of children and young people with written permission from a parent or carer. The photographs on this website show hands and activities only, not faces.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. Email contact@kinectcommunity.org and we will help. You can also contact the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we have handled your information.
